lexreavis: Wow, Christina! You outdid yourself on this one. That was alot of money, time, try-ons, washing, steaming, filming, editing.... whew! Thank you SO much for such a well laid out, informative and useful video. Kudos!!
herranpieksut2084: What is worth your money is the T-shirt that is manufactured nearest to where you live, by adults who get decent pay. There might not be huge differences in quality, but that is not the only factor impacting the price.
Artofcarissa: If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that there’s a diminishing returns when it comes to comparing mid rang clothing items vs luxury/high price fashion items.
There’s a much bigger leap in quality from a $5 t shirt to a $50 t shirt than there is to that same $50 t shirt and a $500 t shirt.
So long as you pay attention to the fabric materials and construction of the garment you can get quality clothes without breaking the bank
adz5bneweng589: Cos was my favorite tee, but I purchased the Uniqlo 100% cotton crewneck tees during the Uniqlo sale - definitely compares to the COS feel and weight at half the price. Note - size up. Uniqlo runs smallish. Always check their product size chart as the product size varies product-to-product.
Note: Hanes mens t-shirts are usually heavier weight than womens and still inexpensive.
DaniL-hr9xo: I hate when collars lose their shape! This is a very helpful video
earthlingreggie3986: Investigative journalism at its best..thank you for your service
cynthiasilva8794: I really LOVE this video! It was super useful!! Please do more videos like this, about: jeans, shoes, leather jackets, hotties, real comfortable trainers, you named it! Excellent content
nikitagiffin4457: I always buy the men’s Uniqlo t and it’s perfect!
cynthiaswe1230: I love my Uniqlo Tees. They never disappoint me. The ones I got hold onto their shape after many many washes.
Bigminimallife: I love my Uniqlo white and black tees, love them for quality and fit. I did also size up in crew neck style, M is just the perfect not slim fit. Their pima cotton tee is also very comfortable, a little bit more sheer, so you do have to be careful what you wear underneath, I went for my usual S in that one. Sezane has been dissapointment in basics and did never repurchase anything basic from them. I would love you to review Doen brand for basic tees, as well as Organic basics
pattischult9401: No matter what you purchase, it all comes down to how many times you can wear it, and you feel amazing while wearing it. If it loses fit, feel, and any semblance of why you purchased it after just a few wearings, it's not luved up to the price you paid.
This is exactly why most of my clothes are thrifted.
kb3925: Wearing my Uniqlo white t-shirt while watching. Great condition and quality for the price
mapoftwenties: I finally ordered some Uniqlo t-shirts just last weekend. I was surprised by the thickness and the fit. I usually went for ribbed t-shirt because I felt they had something more preppy in them, but I bought them from H&M or Stradivarius. The quality wasn't as good. And I was afraid Uniqlo's t-shirt would be boxy and would make me feel bigger. They didn't, and they are really comfortable! They have so much possibility in them : I wore one just with jeans and sneakers, one with heels and a cardigan etc... I'm really glad I bought these! (Also thanks for white tees not showing my rib and my back tattoos through sheerness!).
Thanks for the rec and the help regarding sizing !
carmenlheureux5435: I’m obsessed with white t-shirts! Thank you so much to cover this subject from time to time. Uniqlo is a favorite brand of mine.
VanessaButtino: My favourite t-shirts are the Walmart men’s cotton tees for $7 CAD each. They come in SO MANY colours, wash well and last ages without getting worn out.
lauram5139: I love the Uniqlo tees. I'm like you and I like a high crew neck and a lot of women's t-shirts just don't have that high crewneck so I am trying out boys t-shirts in the largest size which is usually XL or XXL. I'm kind of liking the oversized boys t-shirt from Old Navy.
dcoughla681: Well done, Christina! I appreciate your hard work on this one. My preferred one is Primark white short sleeve cotton T-shirt (£3 in UK, USD $4.50). Not sure if there are plans to open in Canada but they definitely should. I find it’s soft, washes & irons well, held its shape & is a great layering piece. When you get fed up of it or it eventually gets stained, you can use it as a dust cloth and it won’t break your heart. What’s more, Primark does a T shirt as a part of its innovative new “adaptive” range for those who have difficulty dressing. Of the t-shirts you chose, I love Uniqlo & Cos. Both do great quality basics. As for a $500 white t-shirt, I’m speechless!!
LL-ix5gj: Me thinking I’m splurging on the Uniqlo ones
marieoliphant8305: I could never spend much on a white Tshirt. Because, if it’s new, and white, I’ll stain it. Just paid $25 for. White T at Zara, and opened a soda, and yep, spilled everywhere. I washed immediately but it won’t look the same.
EvelyneB.: A lot of work and expense went into this! Thank you Christina!
Personally, I go with the least expensive but still decent T-shirt for 2 reasons: white T’s no matter how careful you are, will look dingy after about 10 wear/wash and I like to vary color in my Ts. I get bored with the colors very fast. For me it’s an inexpensive way to refresh my look. I don’t throw them away when I no longer use them in day wear. They find a second life as workout gear and a third one as bed wear. Finally, when hopelessly stained and ripped, they end up washing the car. Not a bad life cycle for an inexpensive item! I only buy 1 or 2 new Ts a year, so no over consumption here!
alexasdiaries: awee!! i was rooting for uniqlo and didn’t disappoint! i have exact tshirt and loving it!!
minorityfringe387: Happy to see COS in the review as I've been wanting to try COS t-shirts for awhile now.
katiepb3: LOVED this video!! I wish you spent a little more time trying on each one after washing and talking through the changes before doing the comparison/ranking at the end. But what a thorough review that was both entertaining and insanely informative. Would love to see you do this type of video on other "wardrobe staple" items!! xx
alix_scott: Thank you so much for this video!! Do more like this!! Would love a jeans one. We have a similar build and would love your imput :)
sixtyspink: The way I would have sent that shirt from The Row right back without washing it!
collectinggiraffes: You have to try the Old Navy Vintage T-Shirt! $16 USD, 100% cotton. It's thicker, so it holds its shape & is bra proof, while still feeling soft. It has a nice medium-loose fit, and it washes great.
ChristineCline-y8z: I like Gildan, they're unisex and soft, boxy, yet not overly so. But you have to buy 2 or 3 in package. I have gray & white. Amazon. I'm 70, 5', 150# and got a large, arms length and width perfect for my old arms
