Learn How to Sew a TShirt BeginnerFriendly DIY Sewing Tutorial

BritInvLvr: I think we should have basic clothes patterns and learn how to modify them.
constanza1648: I love how most of your vids you are wearing your own creations, some garment we saw you doing on camera!
janfranklin2114: I’m making a tee shirt today and I’m going to do the neck band this way. Stapling the pattern is brilliant
sybilleulinski1827: Have you ever sewn with Lutterloh? It's as system where you create your own patter exactly after your own measurements. I use it a lot and I even have old model-books from the early 1900s. But the method has never changed./ I love your videos and still learning new tweaks and tricks (80 years old), one is never too old to learn something new.
suzannecrelley2369: T-shirt is lovely and so easy. Thank you. I love the neckline.
laurajones4088: Great tutorial for creating and sewing a knockoff pattern. I’ve adopted several of your serger techniques which are so helpful. This is such a cute and easy tee! Thanks, Catherine.
barbarawarner4645: Thanks. Practical, simple and attractive. A winner.
arvettadelashmit9337: Thank you for showing us how to make this pattern. The only place we could buy new patterns in Morehead, KY, was at our local Walmart. When they started remodeling our Walmart, I noticed that the patterns were no longer in what is left of the Crafts and Sewing Department. With the news last week about the Big Four Patterns Companies being sold to a liquidator. I was upset. Until I remembered that I had bought two designer patterns from a designer (in Virginia) through the U.S. Mail (I found her ad in "Threads Magazine"). I also bought designer patterns in hardback books written by designers (with the full sized patterns in the books). I bought these books from a book seller through the U.S. Mail. All is not lost. We can get better instructions and ideas from the designers through their books or personal patterns.
christinegraham2579: I love watching your videos. Your voice is so soothing & your tutorials give me hope that I can ease back into sewing after about a 20 year break. And this self drafted pattern is brilliant!
KitchenFairy61: I really like Ellie and Mac PDF patterns. They have both free and paid patterns that come in many different forms from printing out your size to AO sized along with projection files. They publish videos for every pattern. Most of their patterns are for knit fabric.
hezzermarie: So motivating! I love the end result and it did seem really easy!
Ami5Jo: What's really important to note about pdf patterns is Make Sure it's Not an AI pattern. Take the time to verify that the pattern maker is a real human.
mary-louw2946: Thank you! What an easy, quick way to make a tee. I guess I will be checking my closet tomorrow to see what tee shirt I want to knock off.
constanza1648: I used this "collar technique" for waist bands in pants! With a knit fabric works great, as it has no much fray. For wovens (like waist bands), you need to serge first avoiding too much excess of fabric, and then keep track of the little space for the stitching in the fabric: oh, as a beginner I miss a lot of the times the waistband on the inside!
ernameine2016: Mit einem Nahtschattenfuß bzw. Schmalkantenfuß wird das Nähen im Nahtschatten ganz easy! Grüße aus Deutschland.....
elainelear4982: The Tshirt turned out very nicely, and simply.
pmclaughlin4111: I am one of those people who loves the big 4. Their block fits me fairly well with a few standard adjustments. Nearly every independent small pattern maker has required a lot more (although to hers crossed I just picked up a Closet core...first muslin wasn't bad...working on full wearable muslin now )
IMOO1896: On one of your future videos will you explain how you can get away with doing a straight stitch for the hem on stretch fabric. I’ve always understood the thread will break and that’s been my experience. Is a ball point needle -or jersey needle sufficient( but didn’t you use a universal needle)?
kra13: You are so amazing! I also love seeing a Sharpie used for good...
bethprice9702: On your collar stitch in the ditch don't look at where the needle is hitting the fabric. Use the little red guide on the plastic part of the foot and feed the fabric ditch towards the guide. That stops the side to side but you were doing that caused the stitches to go onto the collar. Just a slight millimeter difference in perspective makes a world of difference! Love the top!
brwndot: Thanks for this! Is there a reason you didn't use a zigzag stitch when sewing on the neck band? I'm a beginner without a serger and thought a stretch stitch was required. Many thanks!
ArlenePMCM: I love this perfect tee shirt. I'm altering a dress and will do the neckband this way. It looks so smooth and professional.
belieftransformation: What a great tutorial & the t-shirt looks fabulous on you! Thanks
margaretperkins5418: Fabulous video and I LOVE the neckband treatment! Thank you so much for sharing!
AnnFHallahan: Amazing tutorial. Great tips thank you. Gives me more confidence in trying knits. I'm very "scared" of knits!! Never happy with my sewing of knit fabric
butNick: Thanks for this! I've been sitting on an unfinished tshirt for so long because I'm fighting withbthe neckband. Now i know 75% and how to find all the quarter marks!!
lindap9079: I have the perfect candidate for this tutorial. I have a similar mock turtle tee shirt, that I have loved to death. I change it to crew neck but follow this technique. Thanks for the instruction and encouragement.
